Webinar on Nano Materials and their Recent Applications Conducted
The Human Resources and Development Committee (HRDC) of the Department of Engineering organized a webinar on “Nano Materials and their Recent Applications’’ on Tuesday, 23rd February 2021, between 12.15PM to 1.30PM. The live session was conducted by Dr. R. Rajashekaran, Professor of Chemistry at the Department of Engineering, UTAS-Salalah. The primary objective of the session was to disseminate and share the recent advancements in Nanotechnology.
The program was opened by Mr. Stalin Kumaradoss HRDC Coordinator of Engineering where he welcomed the Head of the Department, Mr. Abdul Hamid Al-Hinai, Head of Sections, and staff members, and introduced the guest speaker to the 50 participants.
Dr. Rajashekaran presented interesting facts and underlying principles and processes about the topic. In his talk, he covered nanomaterials, types of nanomaterials like nanotubes, nanofibers, polymer based nanoparticles, nanowires, nanocellulose, etc. He also provided details about contemporary applications and recent achievements in the field of nanotechnology. Before the end of the event, the participants raised various queries regarding the topic, which were attended to by the speaker.
The program ended with a vote of thanks and felicitation to the speaker.
