The IT Department's Human Resource Development Committee, in collaboration with the Research, Consultation, and Industrial Innovation Committee, organized an enriching Staff Development Program titled "Practical Workshop on Ethical Hacking: A Research Perspective" on April 23, 2024. Dr Imran Qureshi of the IT Department led the workshop, which aimed to enhance faculty members' understanding of ethical hacking and its research implications.

 

The resource person explained hacking terminologies, requirements to become a hacker, certifications, careers, and the scope of ethical hacking. Through interactive sessions, hands-on exercises on various types of attacks, and engaging discussions, attendees gained comprehensive knowledge about ethical considerations, methodologies, and emerging trends in cybersecurity research. Dr Imran's profound expertise guided the program and facilitated collaborative learning among attendees, fostering an environment suitable for knowledge acquisition and professional growth.

This successful SDP underscores the department's commitment to advancing academic excellence and fostering a culture of continual learning and development. Participants had the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts in real-world scenarios through hands-on exercises and simulations, which enhanced their understanding and skill proficiency. Emphasis was placed on the research aspects of ethical hacking, encouraging participants to explore potential research topics, methodologies, and avenues for scholarly contributions in this rapidly developing field.
